Maggie Lopes, RMT, DAc.

Maggie Lopes is a Registered Massage Therapist and Acupuncturist living in the Newmarket area. She grew up in Toronto and always knew she wanted to pursue a career in health care. She completed her Diploma in Massage Therapy at Centennial College, graduating in 2002.

Maggie’s interest in rehabilitation led her to work in a Physiotherapy clinic specializing in acute injuries. She also spent several years working alongside Chiropractors, as well as in health clubs which has given her an extensive background in treating chronic issues and sports injuries.

An injury of her own led her to receive Acupuncture treatments which sparked an interest in Eastern Medicine. She graduated from the Acupuncture Diploma program at the Shiatsu School of Canada in 2007, and she has been combining Eastern and Western philosophies in her treatments ever since.

Maggie firmly believes in addressing the cause of pain and injuries and teaches her clients appropriate home care, stretches and exercises so that they can improve as quickly as possible and enjoy a happy and pain- free lifestyle.
